New Location Open in Cumming, GA

We recently had the chance to speak with Sulyndia Mitchell, one of the owners of Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar in Cumming, GA.  Sulyndia, along with her husband Michael Mitchell, opened the location in June of this year.  On most days, you can find Michael greeting customers and overseeing the day to day operations of the restaurant.   Here’s what she had to say:

Q. What made you want to be part of the Shuckin’ Shack Franchise?

A. “Having extensive experience running other seafood restaurants, it sounded like a perfect fit to make Michael’s dream of restaurant ownership come true!”

Q. How is Shuckin’ Shack different from other seafood restaurants?

A. “The culture and the attitude of the franchisor being all in!  Also, it doesn’t hurt that the food is fantastic and the signature drinks are classics with a twist!”

Q. What are some of your top recommendations from the menu?

A. “Start with the seafood trio followed by the lobster roll (The Greggah), Surf and Turf with wings and crab legs, the oyster Po-boy and finish with scratch-made key lime cheesecake.”

Q. What makes Cumming an ideal location for a Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar?

A. “There are no seafood/oyster bars in the vicinity and Cumming was desperate for something different other than pizza, burgers, Mexican or Italian!  A guest asked Michael if he was ‘the genius who finally opened a seafood restaurant in Cumming?’ -I think that speaks volumes!”

Q. What does “A Good Shuckin’ Time” mean to you?

 A. “A fun place to hang out with friends and family to enjoy fresh seafood, awesome drinks with a welcoming staff and atmosphere.”
