Employee Spotlight: Ed

Shuckin' Shack Wilmington is pleased to introduce Ed Sentman as the new General Manager for the 109 Market Street location.  Ed has spent the majority of his career in the restaurant industry, most recently with Mission BBQ and as General Manager of Hooters in Wilmington, NC.  Ed also brings with him his great personality, love of sports, and ability to make his customers and staff feel welcome and appreciated. 

We asked Ed to tell us a little more about himself. Here’s what he had to say:

How long have you been with The Shack? What position(s)?
I’ve been General Manager since November 13, 2017.

What is your favorite part of working at The Shack?
It’s never boring! There are always new things to learn and solve.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Kona, Hi – fishing, beer, and the weather

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
Fat Tuesday Key West. Enough said.

What is your favorite item of seafood?
Fresh Hog Snapper with fried onions and sharp cheddar on a French roll

How do you feel about putting pineapple on pizza?

What are your three most overused words/phrases?
WTF, Dilly Dilly, It’s all good

What is your favorite song?
Don’t Stop Me Now by Queen

Where is your favorite place to be?
On the South End of Topsail Island soaking up rays

What is your favorite thing to do?
Travel and Fish

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
The ocean

What three traits define you? 
Integrity, humility, and fairness

What is your personal philosophy?
If you’re not first, you’re last!

How do you define success?
Trying to deliver more than is expected of me.
